CGI Butterfly

The Calligraphy Guild of Indiana had a challenge in honor of Wendy, a long time member and lover of butterflies. I happened to have a wooden butterfly that had been sitting for years, primed but not painted. This took the challenge into three dimensions! I looked at a vintage print of butterflies to get some ideas for how to paint it and then spent a fun day painting and lettering. I put the name of each guild member on the underside of the wings.
